The difference between stainless steel and carbon steel
From the metal composition to distinguish, carbon steel is not added to other metal elements of steel, and stainless steel is to rust, so added high alloy content of steel.
Because of this, the hardness of carbon steel will be higher than that of stainless steel, but it is easy to rust, and the anti rust performance of stainless steel will be better than that of carbon steel, so the price of stainless steel screws will be higher than that of carbon steel screws.
Due to the different properties of stainless steel and carbon steel, their use environment is different. Because stainless steel screws have much higher corrosion resistance than carbon steel screws, they are often used in the medical and food industries where there is more contact with external substances, while carbon steel has poor corrosion resistance. They are generally used in the environment where there is less contact inside machinery or in order to avoid too fast corrosion.
